HAS IT EVER HURT? – By Zoltan Varju

“We cannot be more sensitive to pleasure without being more sensitive to pain.” – Alan Watts

HAS IT EVER HURT?
By Zoltan Varju

Has joy ever hurt so much that it brought tears
Every smile? Have Thou felt sorrow, even
Torments, when the twilight’s good cheer
Wakened the rosy blush on Thy cheeks?

Have you ever been waiting for remission of the sins,
Weighing heavily on Thy shoulders for others?
Did Thou give forgiveness when asked
From Thee, knowing the guilty will be the victim?

Has pain ever hurt so much that it grew to the sky
The joy in Thee? Have you felt passion,
Even longing, when sadness
Buried the suffering, waiting for Thy smile?

Have you ever received answers to those questions,
To which the answer was in Thou? Have you given
Enlightenment to the darkness of the night
At daylight, that even the wise have learned from?

Has joy ever hurt so much that it brought tears
Every smile? Have Thou felt sorrow, even
Torments, when the twilight’s good cheer
Wakened the rosy blush on Thy cheeks?
