Amikor festettem ezt a képet, az jutott eszembe, hogy ez egyetlen nappalinak sem lesz dísze.
Aztán az is eszembe jutott, hogy mennyi fiatal pusztul el egy ilyen háborúban, mennyi pénz folyik el, amit lehetne sokkal jobb célokra is fordítani, ám ehhez a diktátoroknak, az elvakult vallási vezetőknek, a fegyvergyárosoknak kellene megváltozni. Erre nem látok esélyt, így ez a festmény biztosan nem lesz egyetlen nappali dísze sem.

When I painted this picture, I thought that this would not be a decoration for any living room.
Then I also thought about how many young people die in such a war, how much money is wasted that could be used for much better purposes, but for this to happen, the dictators, the blinded religious leaders, the weapons manufacturers would have to change. I don’t see a chance of that, so this painting will definitely not be a decoration for any living room.
